Picture Quality Marvelous THANKS RJ
The box that the t.v. came in was damaged but the t. v. itself was fine. Very good picture quality.
It’s great. Great picture
Great tv
Great picture and sound!
Got the 40" version and I love it! Easy set-up, beautiful picture, no warm-up time, very good sound. Love it!
I only buy Samsung-Televisions and you should too! Great tv Great price! Yay Amazon right on time!!
Love Samsung
It’s messed up that this tv is listed as having a refresh rate of 120 when it’s actually 60. That’s the entire reason I purchased this tv.
Great TV for the price (58" Costco). Very easy setup and best picture quality you can get for this price. Really worth adding their 5 year warranty to any TV.
The picture is amazing! I can't believe how thin it is and how clear and clean the picture is. Highly recommend. You'l probably need to order a mounting kit if you're going to use a wall mount.
Text on screen is very fuzzy. Tried various adjustments thru settings but nothing works. Also, picture on some stations does not fill up entire screen. Have set ideo to 1080i and stretch mode. Still doesn’t help. Very disappointed
The TV is excellent. It's exactly what I wanted. However, the shipping method wasn't the most desirable. So that I'm not censored, I'd like to say the TV is great, the shipping depatment however, needs a tune up.
Yes.
Came as advertised not the best tv on the market...but I think it's one of the best for the bang for the buck if your balling on a budget
This TV has the Classic Hulu App. Netflix works and amazon video works as well. Pluto TV is the default app that comes on when starting up the TV.
Personal and Video Gaming and computer access There iate no access for wireless/ cordless or cord Headphones We had to buy a blue tooth headphone due to no input/ out put access Only because it gets really loud in the man cave. An extra $150 for his gaming added on and it was pretty important for competitions or computer access. Next time I purchase a TV I would be looking at that feature a little more closely
great product..great price..easy to use..fast delivery..will buy again
nice tv. downgraded remote from the 2017 7000 line . use as monitor
We bought this off of a good cyber Monday deal. We like this TV a lot and the brand Samsung has never given us any challenges. I actually bought the same one but a 42" for my mother 2 days later.
This TV was a great value and has a wonderful picture and the seller was a very good salesman.
Got this to replace a plasma; by far plasma is the best but no longer available. First purchased a more expensive LG, but picture quality for the price ( plus a lack of picture settings) made me return it. For half the price of the LG I feel this was the better deal. Setup took about 30 seconds with the SmartThings app. Took all my network and account settings directly from my smartphone. Mounting was another issue. I have an old wall mount but all the hardware. However this TV uses 45mm M8 bolts and the longest I had was 40mm (make sure you have M8 45mm bolts if mounting). Took a trip to the hardware store to get correct bolts. Picture quality is what I expect from LED. It has a lot of picture settings to play with so you can tweak it to your preference. No issues with sound but we used our old soundbar. I would recommend this to others looking for a relatively cheap LED.
Beautiful picture. Vivid colors. Sharp detail. This TV really does upscale HD programming to 4K - or at least makes it better. After reading many reviews on this site and other sites I chose this TV over others. Setup was easy. Two things I did before setup was to purchase a premium, high speed HDMI cable as my other cable was HDMI 1.0 and download the latest software update and store it on a USB stick. After setup, I immediately updated the software. So, so far I have experienced none of the complaints that I have seen in other reviews. I started with Dynamic picture setting and adjusted it to our preferences from there. Everyones taste will be different so don't be afraid to make adjustments.
Bought the 40 inch model at Thanksgiving 2018 for bedroom use. I only recommend this for a bedroom as the viewing angles are poor. Laying in bed with the TV straight in front of you the picture is terrific - with the picture set to Movie mode and backlighting set at 35 out of 50 (for low or no light viewing). But 20-25 degrees off center and the colors start to fade. In a living room with people at all different viewing angles you will not be happy. The promotional pictures from Samsung showing the image at an angle look like they were shot straight on and rotated digitally. The sound is great - with it set to Optimized. Although my primary use is cable TV viewing, the control is not user friendly. For example, even though the TV is connected to the internet, I see no simple way to access Netflix.
Great TV for the price as of March 22, 2019. I bought this knowing it was the 2018 model. To me, when looking at components for a home theater, I want as large and as close to top of the line as I can afford. I wouldn’t buy this tv for a main home theater system. I’d go with a Premium UHD at least and would even prefer a Qdot TV or OLed one. But I use this TV in a bedroom and it more than does it’s job, again at an unbeatable price. The smart features are important as we use a variety of streaming services and it’s pretty easy to use. The sound is pretty decent considering I don’t have a soundbar or stereo to connect to it (small room doesn’t need it).
very good picure
xa0I put this TV in the Master Bedroom. Have not done anything with the wiring yet but that's next. My only complaint is that the sound is not as deep as my Samsung in the my older 52" which is in the living room purchased in 2009. You really can not go wrong with a Samsung. Picture looks good from all angles. Remote is more spartan than my older set but works.
Best picture around. Remote is easy enough, but I only wish that Sampson would not restrict some of the apps. Bluetooth would be a nice feature to have added but it did not prevent me from purchasing another Samsung.
This TV is amazing. I let my husband get no bigger then a 55" TV. I had bought him a Bose sound bar already so I really can't say much about the sound, but, the picture.....is totally amazing. Everything looks like it is live, not filmed and rebroadcasted. Ok. Now we have had the TV for about a month. I just watched "Roman Holiday" with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. Black and white cinematography is an art form in itself. The nuance of shadow, light, and how these play off the actors and their surroundings is important. The nuance was lacking. Perhaps, I will learn how to recreate the vision each director originally wished to create. Too bad there were no instructions. Will give settings a whirl.
great tv
We did some research and this model was recommended by consumer reports but the picture quality is very poor.
Just amazing!
Very good value.
The set up was straight-forward and the picture was great, but it has a very narrow viewing angle. Too narrow for our room, so we returned the set. The Samsung panel uses a va panel; ips panels offer a wider viewing angle.
Great picture and easy setup
The 65" NU7100 Smart 4K UHD TV is amazing! The size alone really caught me by surprise. I didn't think it would be much improvement over my 55" TV, but I was wrong. The sheer size really gives it a commanding presence in my living room. Also, the design is sleek and slim. It is the perfect addition to any TV watching room - it's the jewel of the room. The next aspect that surprised me was the sharpness and pure colors that the TV projected. I anticipated a TV of this size would not have such clear, succinct colors. It really enhanced each and every program I watched. I especially loved watching game shows, movies and reality shows on the NU7100 - they were "larger than life"! My family and friends love coming over to watch TV at my house now - they love the TV! Another amazing aspect is the smart functions. They are so convenient and easy to use. No more searching - everything is right in front of you! Not only are they easily accessible, you have access to any smart function you can imagine or need. I love that I can toggle between cable, Netflix, Amazon Video, etc. with just a few clicks on the remote. Overall, I am completely amazed with the Samsung 65" NU7100! The whole package makes it incredible: size, shape, sleekness, clearness, vivid colors and convenience.
Just wanted to quickly comment on how much I love this TV. This my first step towards 4k reality. My previous tv was a 42" 1080p sharp which also worked great. This 50" means everything. I hooked it up to my PC for 4k gaming with gtx 1080 video card. Gaming is simply awesome on this. With the new battlefield 5 game, I am averaging about 45 frames per second. The sharp, depth, quality, clarity, brightness on this tv is phenomenal. I am glad I was willing to fork over an extra 100/200 bucks to go with a higher quality TV, rather than simply one of the common 300 dollar price range for 50 inch 4k TVs. I have attached a picture of me playing forza horizon 4 on this tv.
[2-MONTH UPDATE] There was a firmware update that didn't fix anything from what I posted in my original review, so everything I said before still stands. But I do want to add an extra comment about the Samsung Smart TV platform -- It is the "Windows Phone" of smart TV platforms. Most of the apps you look for are not there and the ones that are there, barely receive any maintenance. I guess that leaves Samsung with enough room to push more bloatware to your TV; they pushed two more useless apps in February. I solved the issues with sound volume and smart TV software by buying a Roku Streaming Stick+. I'm sure a Fire TV Stick will work the same wonders if you prefer the Amazon ecosystem. [END OF UPDATE] I received the 43-inch model as a gift from a good friend. I'm grateful to my friend for the gift. I'm also glad I didn't pay for the TV, because my disappointment would've been much bigger than it already is. PROS * Hardware aesthetics: Especially the slim bezels gives this Samsung 4K TV a nice, modern look. * Nice remote with tactile buttons. This model doesn't come with the fancier "smart" remote that has more complicated touch-sensitive buttons and a Bixby feature nobody cares to use. * Good connectivity options. There are three HDMI ports, component, composite jacks, optical audio jack, coaxial antenna terminal, and two USB ports. * Accessibility features: Closed captions and descriptive video tracks are accounted for, but also high contrast text settings and a screen reader for blind users. The accessibility features are the best part of the TV's software. CONS * Software: This is my first "smart" TV, and I'm beyond underwhelmed by the software. It requires too much navigating around. If you mess up while entering your (required) Samsung account password, Samsung will put you through the torture of re-typing your email address too. Plug in a USB PC keyboard during the initial setup; you'll be glad you did. * Weak TV tuner reception: In probably the worst offense for a TV that is going to be used as a TV, not just a glorified monitor, the TV tuner on this TV is very weak. I get fewer channels on this TV and with worse reception than what I got with my old TV, a CRT Sylvania model made during the DTV transition and hence equipped with a digital tuner. This, despite the fact I'm still using the same antenna I was using with the old TV, an "HDTV-ready" amplified antenna from GE. * Bloatware: Once you have gone through the initial setup, the TV installs a bunch of apps, which may be useful if you want to use those services, but a real annoyance if you don't use said services. Not interested in getting a Hulu account? Too bad, you can't uninstall the Hulu app. Same applies to the Netflix, YouTube, DirecTV Now and all other preinstalled apps. * Beta-quality apps that don't work: The preloaded DirecTV Now app doesn't even play the audio when streaming Live TV, only the video is shown, and consistently freezes up when trying to play DVR or VOD. Why include a non-working beta app that users cannot remove?! * Underwhelming color reproduction. Gotta love how black looks purple, although Samsung will turn off the screen if a black background is displayed for more than two seconds, probably so you think the TV has good black levels even though it doesn't. * Inconsistent sound. Volume constantly changes, and I'm not talking about difference between programming and commercials. It's like the TV wants to adapt to the level of noise in the room, but fails miserably in the process. Most of the cons are indeed software issues that may be addressed with a software update; no update is available at the time of this review. But you should buy and judge tech based on what it does, not on what it may or may not do with updates that may or may not come. I know the friend who gave me this TV as a present, has the 2016 model, and I know another friend who has the 2017 model. But I can certainly say that the 2018 model is a big flop, one that may become better with future software updates... or not.
The picture is really clear. Normal setting provides excellent contrast and colors. The auto motion had a strange effect on the look and feel of movies, but can be switched off Olin settings. The smart hub is still frustrating to use, and keyboarding takes forever. At this price, and in this day and age, voice activated remote should be standard. Seems awkward not to have it. Samsung now requires a Samsung account in order to add apps. Not sure why. Many of the standard ones are already loaded, but one needs to get a Samsung account and sign in to add more. I called Samsung to get help with this. The service wasn’t great, and I was given a lame excuse as to why the new requirement is in place. To make it useable, I have to choose to either upgrade to the Samsung 8 series TV or forget the “smart hub” and buy a Roku.
I recently purchased this product (UN65NU7100) at Best Buy but wanted to leave a review of the product itself here. Prior to this TV, my main TV was a Samsung 52" LCD that has lasted for over 8 years. The quality of that TV was second to none until LED and OLED super thin TV's started to make the market. Even TV's purchased several years after my TV did not have the same picture quality. When I was looking to upgrade, I was floating between a Samsung and LG. This one came out ahead. The picture quality is excellent in the short time I've had the TV. As soon as it was connected, I tested the video quality several ways. I run everything through a receiver and then to the TV. I have Apple TV and a Playstation4 connected. I used netflix through the TV app and played the movie Coco which has very vibrant colors and also very dark blacks and the TV performed superbly. Because of the built in apps, I now use Netflix, Prime Video, and Youtube through the TV and am only using the receiver for the playstation gaming. Even with an older game, the colors and contrasts are much improved. The increase is size is also very helpful. Regarding the sound quality, the TV is less than 2" thick so you can't really expect much in term of deep base, high volume, etc. When gaming through the playstation, video and audio is run through the receiver. Wen using Netflix, Prime, etc, through the TV apps, I am using an optical audio connection to the receiver from the TV and the sounds is excellent. Will update the review in the coming months after a break in period to see if any issues arise.
The 4K picture quality is great with 4K telecasts. Really noticeable as compared with standard HD. One really bad feature. Samsung has an available application called TV+. Out of curiosity I clicked on its icon and without any warning, intermediate steps or "are you sure" notices, the tv downloaded a bunch of TV+ channels that were unrecognizable to me. Worse yet, I lost HD on my conventional cable channels. And, I could find nothing with the tv manual or Samsung blogs that seemed to help. I did call Samsung help desk and found a work through with the technician at Samsung. Turns out there is no way to remove the application, just all the channels and then restore HD to your cable channels. The technician seemed to have dealt with the issue many times and, while not rude, she was business like bordering on annoyed. When I persisted with asking what the purpose of the application was she acknowledged that it is for people who don't have or want cable tv channels. She also let on that Samsung is developing an application update that will be coming soon that possibly will help with the experience that I had.
Not sure why some people complained about the set up, it went smoothly with me. No, you don't need to download an app to help you, just skip it, and set it up by yourself. It is important to find on-line instructions on how to properly set it up, and once done properly, the image is just spectacular. The built in sound is also not bad. I only have a few minor complaints: (1) The placement of sensor for the remote. It is located in the middle at the bottom of the screen, a perfect position for a sound bar, which can block the remote signal. (2) The TV app: You could address the previous problem using the Samsung TV app if both are connected via WiFi, but the app has an annoying amount of ads, which show up every minute of so. If you are scanning channels, adjusting volume, etc you are highly likely to read an ad. This is simply a cheap shot from Samsung — how much money is it worth making this way to put off your customers? This makes Samsung looks small. (3) No headphone jack. As such if your sound system also does not have a headphone jack (like mine), you have no way of listening to your shows in private with a simple headphone. There is not BT connection either ... So it seems the only way you can connect a headphone is via the RCA type audio-out port using those RF wireless headphones which are prone to statics. This must be a cost cutting decision from Samsung; however, for the price I paid and the fact that it has 3 HDMI inputs, I accepted as a reasonable compromise.
Looks good and sounds good. I can sometimes see blurriness when watching a football game. Sometimes when there is fast movement there's a slight blur.
This is my first new TV since 2014 and it’s awesome. Setup was quick and easy and I followed some instructions I found online to fine-tune the picture for both games and movies. I was not impressed the Samsung left out the bolts required to mount the feet to the tv and it’s not a standard bolt but I went to Lowe’s and found something that worked. Also, the bolts you need to wall mount are some Samsun-specific weird bolt that also was not available at Lowe’s. That’s the only complaint I have though. I didn’t rate the sound because I have it hooked up to a receiver with Bose speakers. What a great deal!
This is a great TV! I shopped around, and of course all store retailers could not beat this price. I had a challenge getting the TV in that TWO were sent and I couldn't stop the order (after less than 30 minutes of ordering). But I did get the refund. The TV was really easy to install. I thought I'd need help but did it all myself! Which is huge news for a person who hasn't owned a TV in more than a decade. I'd recommend this TV to anyone.
Works great.
Can as advertised. Easy setup. Great picture.
This 40 Inch Samsung TV is 4K 4096 X 2160 Resolution at 60 HZ. I don't know the meaning of 120 Motion Rate. However, I have tested different HDMI cables and couldn't support the 120 HZ. So, you plan to buy a big screen display for gaming that can change the refreshing rate, then go with PC monitor (with Display Port). Smart TV Do Not have the option Display Port.
going from a 40" to this 50" significant size change no headphone jack or audio out jack my fault for not checking my current soundbar old school ran off of an audio out hack I am going to buy a new soundbar. no big deal. easier to use my 40" samsung remote - it is bigger with larger buttons. the new 50" remote is cram-packed with buttons so tiny you are constantly hitting the neighboring buttons. Otherwise very happy with my choice.
Amazing picture quality. Still figuring out how to use all the features. I cannot read the e-Manuel on screen and remember what to do next. Really wish for a hard copy. I am not techie at all. Would love a hard copy sent to me.
